Title: Trump neutrality
Published: Ventura County Reporter
Date: Aug. 17, 2017
About this cartoon: Donald Trump's willful refusal to denounce neo-Nazis, Ku Klux Klansmen, anti-Semites and other alt-right marchers at a deadly rally in Charlottesville, VA spoke volumes about his personality. While Trump briefly did the expected thing and denounced extremism (clearly and unhappily reading from a script), he soon went off-script again, doubling down on blaming "many" sides and insisting there were some "very fine people" on the side of the far-right instigators who led the rally. A rally that saw one of them deliberately run down and kill a young woman on the resistance side.
